New Drew Pictures.

I've been neglecting my blogging again. These last couple of weeks have been really busy, and I just haven't felt like getting on the computer after Drew goes to bed. I wanted to post some pictures though, so I'm back at it again before running out to my meeting. I'm going with a pink theme for the background in anticipation of Valentine's Day, but I'll probably change it again once that's passed.

We had a family picture and some pictures of Drew taken since his school pictures didn't turn out this year. I actually recycled them -- they were that bad. We picked these up last Friday:

Family members will be receiving copies of Drew's pictures in the mail shortly. You know who you are.

This photo shoot went amazingly smoothly. Usually, one of the three of us winds up in tears when we go to have our picture taken, but no one cried, and I think the pictures turned out pretty well.

I haven't been taking many pictures myself lately, but I have a couple more to post. Drew wanted to make some chocolate pudding last week, so I took his picture while he was stirring the pudding. He actually stirred for a few minutes before he ran off and left me to finish it. He's also learning to crack eggs -- that one's a little trickier though. No so good when you're trying to make over easy eggs!

Here's Drew in his "homework hat". It helps him concentrate. Don't ask me. I really don't know where he gets this stuff.

The Little Hustler

Pattee came over tonight so I could go to a meeting. I actually got to have coffee at Starbucks first, too. What a luxury. I'm not normally a big Starbucks fan, but since they opened one right on the way to the meeting, and they no longer seem to be able to take over the Earth, I can buy a decaf there now and then.

Drew tried to hustle Aunt Pattee for everything he could, including soda, Wii playing, TV watching, general staying up late, etc., but she was wise to his tricks and got him to bed pretty much on time without giving in to his demands. He needs to get to bed as early as possible -- he's getting more like his father every day and doesn't want to get up in the morning. Unless it's Saturday, of course.

Drew and I are really looking forward to the weekend. Adam gets to stay home until Monday because of the holiday. Plus, it looks like he doesn't have class on Mondays for several more weeks, so we'll get an extra day with him for a while.

Go Ravens!!

We had a good weekend with Adam home after his first week of school. Here's a picture of his little turret in Philadelphia. He did take another picture of the rest of the room, but he asked me only to post this picture. Unfortunately, he's not all that pleased with this current interior design, but it's at least functional for the time being.

I did get a quick picture before Adam headed out this evening. So here's Drew with both his glasses and his missing front teeth. Isn't it amazing how quickly they change?

On an unrelated note, I actually watched a football game this weekend. Not on purpose, but I was helping to take down Andy and Carole's Christmas tree while it was on, and then I would up sitting on the couch with Adam, gorging myself on Buffalo Chicken Dip, so I actually watched it. Or I was just in a snack coma--I'm not sure.

Dodging the Bullet

We were supposed to get freezing rain today through tomorrow, but it looks like the temperature is going to stay above freezing. That means school should be on time, and I can get to work on time. We have a big meeting tomorrow morning so I'd like to be on time.

Adam got his speakers working so "The Daddy Show" went off without a hitch tonight. He's getting a cold and was wearing 4 layers of clothes when we talked. I'll have to make a big pot of chicken soup for this weekend. Something like this:

Looks good doesn't it? Of course, Drew won't eat it.

Monday Means Choir Practice

Another day and still no new pictures. I hope Adam remembers to bring the camera home this weekend. I doubt if he's had much time to take pictures - he's a little overwhelmed at the moment.

I'm going to post a picture that was taken of Adam and Drew a couple of months ago. They were making Drew's World Famous (in his mind) Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Tonight was choir practice - Drew's favorite night of the week. He loves playing in the pre-school classroom with Ben, our choir director's long-suffering teenage son who was "voluntold" (Adam's word - not sure where he got it. The Army, I think) into the job.

We got to watch "The Daddy Show" as Drew calls it for a few minutes when we got home thanks to Skype. We're getting the hang of it, and it's great to be able to see each other when we talk. Adam's speakers weren't working, though. Time to call tech support.

It's A New Year Alright

Adam left for school today. He took the camera with him so I don't even have a picture to post. I want to show a picture of Drew with his two front teeth missing, but I'll have to get one when Adam comes home this weekend.

CSA Week 3 and Wacky Hair Day

Yesterday, we received kale, radishes, cabbage, red leaf lettuce, beets, collards, rainbow chard and romaine lettuce from the farm. It's a lot of food, especially considering that Deborah and Jeff are on vacation this week, so we're eating the whole share ourselves. We'll be all over that "Strive for Five" thing.

Today was also Wacky Hair Day at Drew's summer camp. Adam moussed his hair up into a mohawk, but it didn't stay up very long - just long enough to get the picture and have all the kids see it. He's got that same fine hair that his parents do (or did, as the case may be).

Tonight was the last night of Vacation Bible School, and Adam took Drew since I had another engagement. Luckily, Dusty was found safe and sound (the end of the skit), and Drew was very relieved. I need to say a big thank you to the ladies who were his teachers this week. The one time I peeked in on him, he was instructing them in the proper way to sing/perform "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes". I just don't know where that bossiness comes from.
